Overview
"At Pittville School we have unashamedly high expectations for our students. We encourage and nurture students' aspirations enabling all to achieve their potential and be successful."
Our curriculum is rooted in our school's vision statement. It is exciting, diverse, challenging and engaging. It is designed to ensure that all students enjoy their studies and maximise their potential.
We offer a broad curriculum, one which offers students a wide range of subjects, for as long as possible. Students experience a 3-year KS3 course, developing skills and knowledge, and are therefore prepared for their studies in KS4. A balanced, timetabled experience means that each subject is afforded significant space and time to deliver its distinctive contribution for all students.
Our broad and balanced curriculum is underpinned by social, moral, spiritual and cultural development thus ensuring that students are prepared for life in modern Britain.
Our curriculum enables all of our students to progress onto employment, training or further education. Our full time Careers Advisor designs and oversees a 5-year program of events. These events, along with individual careers meetings, and a range of employer and post 16 information events mean students are well prepared for their next steps in education, employment or training.
We are determined to ensure that all students experience warm relationships from staff and expert teaching across the range of subjects. New technologies are used alongside more traditional methods to help students become lifelong learners.
Each year group has a curriculum booklet that can be found on the relevant key stage page which gives further detail of the knowledge and skills that students develop in each year.
